I grew up in a Midwestern farming community surrounded by cornfields and gravel roads and no children for miles. So my best friends were squirrels and bears and snakes and puppies and bunnies ~ of the stuffed animal variety. They accompanied me on walks. We read books together. We ate cookies together. And when bedtime rolled around I couldn't rest until all were lined up next to me, heads on pillows and blankets to their necks, all tucked in. I guess you could say I liked stuffed animals.

When I was young, my Mom (who until she passed away at age 99 was still an avid seamstress and quilter) introduced me to needlework and sewing. When I became a Mom myself I loved sewing clothes for my two little guys; but when it was time to return to the workplace, my lonely sewing machine gathered dust.

Many years later I left the corporate world and I pursued my first love ~ photography. It is a passion I still embrace. I have combined my love of photography and my love for animals in my volunteer work as a cat photographer at a local animal shelter for 5+ years, with plans to continue for many more years. But I also love creating with my hands.
